I am thirteen and in seventh grade. I shoot with a Nikon D100. I do some editing in Photoshop but my mom helps me with the editing too.
I like taking pictures of movement and action. The action in the sports brings the photographer out in me because of my passion and love for the game.
Also I like to take pictures of animals because I feel like people don’t realize that when they put the money into some big industries that industry takes the money and then goes into some remote forest and starts cutting it down. While they are cutting down all these trees they don’t seem to realize that they are killing of some of the most endangered animals in the world. They don’t realize that you invading another living and breathing functional creature that shares this earth with you for thousands of years. We don’t need to kill of so many animals just for one thing. So by taking pictures of animals I feel like I’m finding one more of each animal and perserving them.
Thoughts from my mom:
Hayley has always been a visual child. Even when she was small, she wanted to show me things - not just tell me about them. Books didn't interest her much but art, photography and the use of color always did. She's always seen things other people miss, it's almost a sixth sense. So it seemed logical to give her a camera and then eventually just let her start using my DSLR.
