I graduated from the Interior Design Program at Mount Royal University in 1995 and began fulfilling my design career shortly thereafter.
My design skills and practical experience have been applied to many aspects of the interior design business over the ensuing years, however, I am extremely passionate about Residential Design. Creating living spaces for my clients that they love to spend time in is my most important goal.
NuVo Interior Design has been operating since 2006. The primary focus of my business has been in new construction and renovations with some attention to commercial projects; including one design which was granted a SAM award.
I am meticulous about my designs and pay extra attention to detail. With every design project I acquire, I work closely with my clients continually urging them to broaden their imagination and think `out of the box'.

"I was referred to Jen Taylor by Rock Creek Builders. I knew that I wanted to design a contemporary home - but had no idea how to get there on a 'budget'. In the countless trips Jen and I made to various suppliers she continuously dazzled me by zoning in on exactly what I was looking for, or explaining precisely how an item did or did not fit into our design plan. I received continuous e-mails from Jen with suggestions or pictures of items she thought would be a good addition to the house. If a selection didn't meet our budget, she worked incredibly hard to find us something that did. At all of our meetings she was extremely prepared and often had samples in tow that she thought would interest me. I am in awe over Jen's passion for her profession, and her creativity never ceases to amaze me. Jen worked incredibly hard on our house, and it was hard for me to imagine that I wasn't her only client. "Left to our own devices, we would probably have designed a home that was “nice”, perhaps a bit “safe”. And maybe some of the colour undertones, finishings or fixtures wouldn’t quite match.
Jen helped us step outside of our comfort zone, creating a cohesive vision with pizzazz and pop while respecting our understated style and colour palette. Each room feels connected to the rest of the home, but each room also has a little something that sets it apart and acts as point of interest.
Our starting point was a meeting to discuss our style and budget and the practical considerations of designing a home suitable for a young family. She developed a vision based on these considerations, which dramatically reduced the amount of time that we might have spent walking through showrooms or perusing catalogues. The design was fluid, allowing for minor changes along the way, but always remaining true to the original vision. She understood where she could be more daring with us and where a conservative approach was more appropriate.
