Luis Chacón nace en Ronda (Málaga) el 28 de febrero de 1974. Reside en Grazalema desde niño y el contacto con la naturaleza está presente en muchas de sus obras. Es en este lugar, donde empieza a buscar la forma de desarrollar sus inquietudes. Experimenta un tiempo con el dibujo artístico e investiga también en el ámbito musical. Un día decide vender su guitarra eléctrica y cambiarla por una cámara de fotos. Y ahí empezó su verdadera vocación...Completamente autodidacta, sus comienzos fueron en formato analógico y luego se actualizó con el formato digital haciendo fotografía social y de retrato para uso y disfrute personal.

Ha sido seleccionado en la lista de los 100 mejores fotógrafos de flickr en la categoría de fotografía social (streetshot) para la edición de una de sus fotos en un libro homenaje a Garry Winogrand titulado “venustreet” recopiladas por el fotógrafo griego Charalampos Kydonakis. Su primera exposición titulada "Los habitantes de Chefzalema", un trabajo de retratos en blanco y negro que realizó entre Grazalema y Marruecos, se presentó este presente año en Los Encuentros Artísticos entre las Dos orillas, EC3 en Algeciras y en la Bienal Internacional de Arte de Granada

Luis Chacón was born in Ronda (Malaga) on 28 February 1974. He has lived in Grazalema since he was a child and contact with the natural world is present in many of his works. After studying artistic design and studying music Luis decided to sell his electric guitar and replace it with a camera. And from that point began his true calling ... Completely self-taught, his first photographic projects were in 35mm film but soon switched to digital. Luis is well known in the area for his stunning portrait photography and he works mostly in black and white medium.

Has been selected in the top 100 best photographers in flickr in the social photography category (street-photography) for editing of your photos in a book titled tribute to Garry Winogrand "venustreet" compiled by the Greek photographer Kydonakis Charalampos. His first exhibition entitled "The inhabitants of Chefzalema" a work of black and white portraits he made between Grazalema and Morocco, this year introduced the artistic encounters between the two shores, "EC3" in Algeciras. (Bienal Internacional de Arte de Granada 2011)

Luis is currently working as a cinematographer for the film "Blood and love in the Sierra" to be shot soon in Grazalema.
