A photograph is not a mere 'snapshot,' but rather the capturing of a segment of time--a moment that will never pass again. Photographs do not lie, and they have a great capacity. A single image could change the world with the vast information it may potentially provide. Photography encourages one to look deeper, to search with their own eyes and discover a truth or insight that may have been previously overlooked. Likewise, it forces one to confront reality and perhaps embrace it. As a result, photographs are often difficult to ignore.
At the end of each year, I send a certain percentage of my photography earnings to help children in Africa through the non-profit organization World Vision. Last year, I was able to send 2 girls to school for a year, buy clothes for a family in Tibet, purchase two goats and 2 chickens to help feed a needy family in Sudan, and help several adolescent girls who had escaped from human trafficking. I enjoy helping others and thought it would be even better to do it through my passion. Peace, love, capture the moment.
